We present the videos from our conference on Islamic economics. 
Lecture 1 : The Ultimate Pension Plan - Abu Talha
Abu Talha graduated from Madinah Islamic University (K.S.A) with a BA Hons in Shari'ah and specialises in the field of Fiqh and Islamic Law. During his study in Saudi Arabia, Abu Talha also learnt from the Scholars teaching in the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) Mosque. He has Masters in Education and has been a teacher of 10 years. He is currently director and Imam at the Al-Ansar Islamic Education Centre.
Lecture 2: Riba (Usary) - Shaykh (Dr.) Haitham Al-Haddad: Shaykh Haitham al-Haddad was born in Saudi Arabia and studied for 12 years with various scholars in Saudi Arabia including Shaykh Abdul Aziz bin Baz and Shaykh Abdullah bin Jibreen. He has an ijaza from Shaykh Abdullah bin Aqeel including Islamic jurisprudence and principles of Islamic jurisprudence. Shaykh Haitham holds a BSc Honours in Law and Shari'ah from Omdurman University in Khartoum, Sudan. He also holds a Bsc in Computer Science from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (Saudi Arabia) and is currently completing a PHD in Islamic Law at SOAS in London. Shaykh Haitham sits on the board of advisors of a number of key Islamic organisations in the United Kingdom, including the Islamic Sharia Council of britain. Shaykh Haitham al-Haddads speciality is in principles of Islamic jurisprudence, Islamic law and Islamic finance
Tarek El-Diwany:
Tarek el Diwany graduated in Accounting and Finance from the University of Lancaster in 1985. He established a fixed income derivatives dealing desk and Islamic project finance department for a major financial institution in London during the 1990’s and now works as a consultant and analyst in the field of Islamic finance for Zest Advisory LLP. He is the author of The Problem With Interest, writer and presenter of the film documentary Why are We All in Debt? and editor of www.islamic-finance.com. His latest book is "Islamic Banking and Finance: What It Is and What It Could Be" is an undergraduate textbook looking into Islamic finance. video to follow inshallah...... |
